Through Foothills Caring Corps (https://foothillscaringcorps.com), our club has participated in their "Assist an Elder" program.
Our club really made a difference in an elderly couple's life by doing significant repairs to their Cave Creek mobile home, with the help of a hired contractor. We repaired the roof, leveled the trailer home, removed old flooring and replaced it with new vinyl tiles. Volunteers had to move items and furniture out and back into the home during the flooring state. The owners no longer have a big hole in their ceiling/roof. One of the bathrooms has new sub-flooring, toilet and floor, plus the entire living room has a new floor. Finally, the couple also received a gently used "new" couch. Our club covered the $1,250 cost for materials, plus couch and volunteer time.
